Clemson Head Women's Basketball Coach, Jim Davis announced the signing of two players to letters of intent to play basketball at Clemson in the 2003-04 season. Carrie Whitehurst of Duluth, GA, and Jill Justice of Lewisburg, WV are the two signees.

She was a Street and Smith Honorable Mention All-American last season. She was also an all-state honorable mention as a junior. Her brother Charlie is the starting quarterback for the Clemson football team. Her father David was the quarterback at Furman in 1974-77 and later played with the Green Bay Packers.

Jill Justice, a 5-10 guard, plays at Greenbrier East High School. She is a five-sport standout having played basketball, tennis volleyball, track and softball. She is a four-time YBOA All-American Team selection and was all-state selection in volleyball.

"Carrie is a big strong small forward and is a great athlete," said Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis. "She has good three- point range and is big enough to be a post-up player. Jill is an excellent scorer. She can score in a variety of ways. She can break a team down with the dribble drive and is an excellent free throw shooter.
